2007 Verdelho

Since our first release in 1984, the style remains unchanged. This variety has always retained its highest acid levels and produced its freshest, longest living wines in the warmer years. This certainly is against the grain when it comes to many other white varieties. Generally speaking, they will continue to improve for well over 10 years. A variety that sits comfortably beside Riesling, Semillon and Chenin Blanc in terms of longevity.

The ’07 Vintage was released in February 2009 and demonstrates the unique characteristics of our Verdelho. Ripe, fresh and intense tropical fruit flavours, complimented by extended yeast lees maturation in tank. The wine was first racked off lees in December ’07 and bottled in late January ’08. Alcohol levels are always between 13.5% and 14.5%, finishing dry but with the impression of residual sugar. A wonderful example of our Verdelho style and generally regarded over the last 20 years as one of the top 3 Verdelho in Australia.
